Photography and video competition for Mencap

Get your cameras at the ready as another photographic competition has begun! This time run by the charity Mencap, who support people with learning disabilities, they are looking for videos as well as photographs that represent the idea of keeping active.

The competition is open to everyone, whether you have a disability or not, with the theme relating in some way to learning difficulties. Suggestions to inspire your creative juices include capturing people participating in and watching games and sports, or being part of the local community.

Enter by the 21st of June to win a Fuji digital camera, have your photo or film shown at a London art gallery and on the Mencap website, and receive an invitation to the prize winners’ party and award ceremony in London, where you will be presented with your prize by a celebrity. So what are you waiting for, get snapping!

Here are some of the photography winners from 2009. Click on the images to see the full story behind them, or visit Mencap‘s website to see all the winners.
