The Liberty Festival – celebrating people with disabilities in London

Looking for something to do this Saturday (4th Sept)? Then head to London’s Trafalgar Square to see the annual Liberty Festival celebrating the contribution of people with disabilities to London’s culture.

A whole host of activities will be happening; from cabaret and comedy, to music and dance, to talks and theatre. And they’re all free! Plus there is a children’s zone for the kids to unleash their frustrations as the summer holiday ends.

Look out for performances by Candoco Dance Company who offer inclusive classes for both disabled and able-bodied dancers (at 1.50pm and 4pm).

There will also be a photographic competition giving people the chance to win original artwork by Rachel Gadsen and have their work exhibited on WheelPower and Rachel’s website. Simply send one of your snaps taken on the day at the Visual Art and Sport Zone to Rachel Gadsden at rachelgadsden@blueyonder.co.uk by the 14th of September 2010. The winner will be announced on 27 September 2010. Good luck and have fun!
